  • Where is HPW Ranch located?
    Our ranch is located 32 miles north of Uvalde, Texas. The closest airport is San Antonio Internatioal Airport (SAT), which is roughly a 2-hour drive from the ranch.
  • How far is the ranch from Garner State Park or Chalk Bluff?
    Garner State Park While we may look close on the map, we are roughly 40 miles from Garner and it typically takes about an hour to get to the ranch. Chalk Bluff We are roughly 20 miles from Chalk Bluff and it typically takes about 30 minutes to get to there from our ranch.
  • What kind of activities do you have on the ranch?
    Our ranch offers a range of activities that let you experience the beauty of the Texas Hill Country. Enjoy scenic hiking trails, peaceful stargazing under wide open skies, and the option to camp on our expansive land. There is plenty to do and see on our ranch!   • Do I need 4x4 when visiting the ranch?
    Our main road on the ranch is caliche and typially well-maintained, so 4x4 isn't required. The backroads on our ranch are more treacherous and most require an ATV or four-wheeler to access, but as long as you stick to the main road, you should have no issues when visiting.
  • How many cabins are available at the ranch?
    We currently have two cabins available for rent. Our larger cabin sleeps 6-7 people and our smaller cabin is ideal for couples or solo travelers, sleeping 2 people. The large cabin has a kitchenette, living room with a pull-out couch, full bathroom, and bedroom equipped with a queen bed and bunk beds.   • Can we cook our own meals in the cabins?
    Absolutely! Both cabins come with kitchen essentials, so you’re welcome to cook during your stay. We also have an outdoor space with a charcoal grill.
  • What time is check-in and check-out?
    Check-in time is 3:00PM and check-out time is 11:00AM. Please have all of your personal belongings packed up and removed from your lodging promptly at check-out time so we can prepare for our next guests.
  • Are the cabins pet-friendly?
    Yes! We love your furry friend as much as you do. Both cabins have a small fenced in front yard, great for pups of all sizes. We do ask guests to keep pets leashed when they are within 100 yards of the barn or within the vicitinity of our livestock. They do not like to be chased and this ensures that we can keep our animals and your dog(s) safe!
  • Is there Wi-Fi in the cabins?
    While we encourage guests to disconnect and enjoy the natural beauty of the ranch, high-speed Google Fiber Wi-Fi is available in both cabins.
  • Can we rent both cabins for a larger group?
    Absolutely! If you would like to book both cabins please contact Ashley Harmon at 830-261-8371 and we would be happy to accommodate a double booking, pending the requested dates!
  • How many acres do you have?
    Our ranch spans roughly 6,000 acres of prime Texas Hill Country.
  • What are the prices for your hunts?
    Current hunts and pricing can be found on our pricing and rates page.
  • What is included in your hunting packages?
    It depends on the type of hunt you purchase. Please refer to our pricing and rate page for details about our hunting packages.
  • What time is check-in and check-out?
    Check-in time is 3:00PM and check-out time is 11:00AM (12:00PM for guests hunting on the morning of departure). Please have all of your personal belongings packed up and removed from your lodging promptly at check-out time so we can prepare for our next guests.
  • Do I need a Texas hunting license?
    For any and all hunting you must have a valid TPWD license. Contact us if you have any questions and we and we would be happy to ensure you purchase the correct license prior to your arrival.
  • Can non-hunters also come?
    Non-Hunters are welcome to join and enjoy the beauty of the ranch! Please let us know if your group will have non-hunters and we would be happy to provide a list of activities for them to enjoy.
